HONOLULU — A buyer for Kukui Gardens housing complex was officially selected at a meeting and a contract was signed on Monday morning, sources tell KITV 4. However, Amy Hennessy, the spokeswoman for the board of the low-income housing complex, said that’s not true. She said that no decision was made and that only a proposal was discussed. A group of Kukui Garden tenants unsuccessfully tried to get into the meeting. Dozens of residents of Kukui Gardens and their supporters packed the elevators at 1001 Bishop Street and made their way to the law offices, where the board of the low income-housing complex met on Monday. However, the visit was short lived.Building security asked everyone to leave. The group then left the building and held a rally on King Street.
